"Protected Areas Accelerator" program is successfully underway

Two of the 15 Protected Area administrations selected for the "Protected Areas Accelerator" program, implemented under the "Eternal Mongolia" Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) initiative, have successfully completed their management effectiveness self-assessments with support from FOS Europe facilitators.

Representing the western region, the teams from the Uvs Nuur Basin and Achit Nuur-Devel Island Protected Area administrations spent three intensive days, beginning May 26, objectively assessing their current management effectiveness. Using a self-assessment tool built on the internationally recognized IUCN Green List and METT (Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool) frameworks, they identified clear priorities for strengthening their work.

The findings mark a crucial step toward updating and improving their management planning documents, helping make conservation in the western region more science-based and results-oriented.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the teams from the Uvs Nuur Basin and Achit Nuur-Devel Island Protected Area administrations for their active participation.
